Booking terms
Last updated 26 October 2026. ARK Events is a trading name of KPD Events LTD ("ARK", "we", "us"). These terms apply to every booking made through this site, by phone or on WhatsApp. By paying a deposit you agree to them.
1. What you're booking
You are booking an act — a type of performer or service — not a named individual. ARK acts as the booking agent: we source a suitable performer from our network for your date, venue and budget, and confirm who is coming before your event.
2. Prices, deposit and balance
The price shown for each package is the total you will pay. It is made up of the performer's fee and ARK's fee for sourcing and managing the booking. {{ depositRule }}
The deposit is paid to ARK online when you book and is ARK's fee in full. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. The remaining balance is paid directly to your performer on the day, in the amount shown when you booked and on your confirmation.
Add-ons are confirmed with, and paid to, your performer. Travel within Yorkshire and Lancashire is included; travel further afield is quoted before you pay anything.
3. When your booking is confirmed
Your date is secured as soon as your deposit is paid, and you'll receive a payment receipt by email. We then match you with a performer and confirm their details, timings and any requirements with you before the event.
4. If we can't match you
If we are unable to provide a suitable performer for your date, we will tell you as soon as we know, refund your deposit in full and cancel the booking at no cost to you.
5. Cancellation by you
Cancel more than 30 days before your event and we refund your deposit less a £25 administration fee. Within 30 days of the event the deposit is non-refundable, because your performer has held the date for you and turned other work away.
Because every booking is for a specific date, the 14-day cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply (regulation 28(1)(b)). This doesn't affect any of your other statutory rights.
To cancel, email or WhatsApp us using the details below with your booking reference.
6. Cancellation by us or your performer
If your performer has to cancel, we will find a replacement of the same type and standard. If we can't, we refund your deposit in full. You don't pay a balance for a performance that doesn't go ahead.
7. Changes
Date, venue and timing changes are accommodated where the performer is able to. If a change means we need to source a different performer, we will tell you before anything else is charged. If we can't accommodate a new date, section 5 applies.
8. Refunds
Refunds go back to the card you paid with. They usually show on your statement within 5 to 10 working days.
9. On the day
You are responsible for providing the space, power and access described on the act's page, and for making sure your venue permits the performance. Performers may stop a performance where there is a risk to safety, or where they are subjected to abusive behaviour.
10. Insurance

11. Our responsibility to you
We take care to match you with reliable, professional performers. Our liability to you for any booking is limited to the amount you paid to ARK for that booking, except where the law does not allow us to limit it, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
12. Contact and law
Questions about these terms or your booking: {{ email }} or {{ phone }}. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
